Very interesting podcast -- nice job, ICQ. I first listened to the BBC on my grandparent's Zenith console radio (I still have it) back in the late 1940s...still enjoying the BBC today. Looking forward to getting into their logbook. Congratulations to the entire crew at Broadcast House for a job well-done!

Congratulations G8BBC. Well be anxious to work your new station. When I was 12 years old I listened to the BBC
and to all the other shortwave broadcasting stations from over the world. BBC, Voice of the Andes (HCJB, Radio Switzerland
and many others was the reason I became a Amateur Radio Operator beginning in 1955. I sure miss the old SW stations.
Good Luck to all of you who established G8BBC. I especially miss hearing Big Ben which will always be in my memory.

Like many, I first heard the BBC on an old upright SW radio in our living room in the early 50s in New Jersey. I also remember hearing the BBC in "Special English" to Africa. (propagation must have been really good)
