    The Rumors are WRONG!!!

The rumors are wrong! There are still tables available at Frostfest!!! Surf over to www.frostfest.com to order your flea market or commercial table(s)!!!!

It's shaping up to be a great show with Yaesu, Icom, Austin Amateur, and KJI all setting up to provide your complete amateur radio needs!

Many more vendors will be there! If you can't find it, you're not looking hard enough!

    Frostfest 2010 Richmond VA update

With 2 weeks to go until Frostfest 2010, I thought I would post an update:

As Tray pointed out, there are tables left. However, that has been dropping rapidly and there are not many left.

Tickets and table sales will be available online for purchase up until 2/5. Orders placed after 1/29 will be held at Will-Call for pickup.

We're also very excited to announce that Bob Bruninga WB4APR, will be at Frostfest! He'll be bringing his solar Prius http://www.aprs.org/APRS-SPHEV.html, giving a chat in the morning, and chatting with attendees.

Tickets are 8$ online, and 9$ day of the show. Ordering early gets you in at 8AM.

We hope we see you at the show!

    Frostfest 2010 Richmond VA update

Brennan Price, N4QX, will be representing the ARRL staff at the 2010 Frostfest!

Mr. Price's primary responsibility is the ARRL’s advocacy before the ITU and preparation for the World Radiocommunication Conferences. He also has experience in antenna restrictions and has spoken at Dayton the last few years about them.

He is going to speak on 3 topics: Antenna restrictions, 97.113 recent activity in Virginia and international work by ARRL.

Please join us in the Colonial Building at 9:30AM for this excellent presentation that applies to all hams, in Virginia and beyond. We certainly appreciate his support of Frostfest.

Tickets and are still available for purchase online for pickup at Will Call either Friday 2/5 from 10AM to 9PM, and on Saturday morning starting at approximately 6:30AM through Friday 2/5. $8 Online at www.frostfest.com. $9 at the door.

There are very few flea market tables left. Get your order in soon. Tickets and table credentials will be held at Will Call.

Frostfest - What a crappy deal

They didn't cancel it. I paid in advance almost $300 for table space and couldn't get out of Northern VA. 30" of snow by early Saturday morning and over 30" total. The State Govoner declared a state of emergency and EVERY weather report and the VA State Police said stay off the roads.

I was told my tables would be available for me all day Saturday and there would be No refunds.

No regard for those that have supported this fest for years. I'll never go again.:mad:

    Frostfest 2010 a Great Show!

Saturday, February 6th dawned cold and snowy, but the 2010 Richmond Frostfest opened its doors and dozens of vendors filled the Richmond Raceway Complex with tables loaded with ham radio gear, computers, and other items for sale. Then hundreds of hams headed in to buy new and used equipment, attend the presentations and meetings, and partake of the many activities at the hamfest.

Frostfest featured manufacturer's representatives from Yaesu and Icom, new radio dealer Austin Amateur Radio Supply, and many accessories dealers. Dozen of vendors and flea marketers plied their wares to a somewhat reduced crowd, but the hams that attended were clearly enthusiastic about the show.

Brennan Price, N4QX, the ARRL’s Chief Technology Officer, provided a keynote address, and volunteered to check QSL cards for DXCC awards. Carl Clements, W4CAC, the Virginia Section Manager, ran the ARRL State Convention meeting. The Wakefield Skywarn VE team, led by CVE Brad Price, KI4BWJ, gave thirty-five tests to twenty-nine people, including several children.

The Richmond Amateur Telecommunications Society (RATS), sponsor of Frostfest, would like to thank everyone who pitched in to make this year's event a success, and would especially like to thank everyone who braved the less-than-balmy weather to attend the hamfest, and make it a success for everyone involved!
