Repeater-Helper Drone <-- carries repeaters to assist the worker drone Camera-Worker Drone <-- the recon drone As you can see in the video, where you setup to fly is no longer a barrier to gain access to what was inaccessible. HAM Radio Repeater Drone: This is also in my plans. A flying cross band radio repeater with the user interface controlled from the ground. Perhaps Field Day could eventually add a new category and point system for a flying repeater setup. (years ago one in our group made a bicycle self powered radio for field day competition so why not a flying repeater drone to attract a whole new audience ?) Anyone interested then contact me. I plan on doing just that. Hit the repeater drone with 70cm on a few dozen milliwatts and cross band to 2 meters at 5W or la little lower.
Yes... the repeater-helper drone is a stock DJI Phantom 2. Instead of carrying a camera, it carries two repeaters to create a complete radio repeat-control solution to support controlling a stock DJI Pantom 2 Vision+ drone. I will have more details soon.
