Many, many folks use him as their airmail envelope provider. You can't get what he sells at a stationary store. He sells airmail envelopes and slightly smaller ones he calls 'European Air Returns' (4 1/2 by 6 1/4 inches )that nest inside the airmail envelopes ((you send to the DX . The airmail you send thus is flat and doesn't look like its filled with a fistful of dollars (and thus invite ripoff in transit). Also faster and easier for DX to compile and respond. I am no longer a member of ARRL after 50 years as a ham. Just can't afford it on a fixed income any longer. A REAL SHAME !
It's not a dying art. But it is failing to instant gratification which is the new life style. The other problem is our quote unquote busted mail service here. I can get a 3 oz. package sent here from China in 4 days for under a dollar, but it will cost me 37 dollars to send it back. Too much government greed and too many pockets to stuff.

Sorry that you can not afford $4.09 per month. Maybe somebody will be extra nice and pay for a year as a gift for you. I used my income tax refund about 6 years ago and did the Lifetime Membership, real glad to have got in before the price went up. Best 73
