Neither - Analog for me
I selected D Star. The reason is that I won an Icom ID5100A November, a year ago. It's a great radio and I really like it.
DMR equipment is relatively inexpensive. But, for some reason, it just does not appeal to me at all. I hear a lot of operators cursing code plugs and they seem to be totally confused about them. Personally, I don't think writing a code plug can be that difficult.
Does Fusion actually exist? There are literally ZERO Fusion users in my neck of the woods. I wouldn't recognize Fusion if it bit me on the ankle.
When you add up all the pro's and con's of each... There probably is little difference in the lot of them. I must also qualify my answer by saying that D Star is the only one I have actually experienced. Thank you Icom America and Ham Nation for the great experience. I am really a fan of the ID 5100A and I never miss Ham Nation.
