For anyone wishing to use an Icom 706 head separated for mobile use etc, and for your information only. There is a company in France and Germany who are selling a diy kit (at around (£25) you have to install and solder yourself, and get a good quality screened rj45 cable. I have made one soldered and installed and it works great. so, If you want to save yourself the cost of extortionately overpriced obsolete separation cables at around £140 have a look at this. ebay France or Germany...
