For quite sometime I have been looking for an inexpensive, reliable antenna that I can take and store virtually anywhere. Well, I finally found such an antenna. IT is the DBJ-2 Ham Portable Dual Band J-Pole made by Dr. Ed Fong. This is a 2 meter / 70 CM antenna made with 300 ohm ladder line. It operate on 144 - 148 MHz for 2M and 440 - 450 MHz for 70 CM. It can take up to 50 watts. The antenna also comes with BNC, SMA male and SMA female connectors so you can use it with your favorite HT! You can also purchase a BNC to PL259 connector as well as extension cables. Due to it small size it fits in a glovebox, backpack or go box!

There is a write up on this antenna in the March 2007 QST or you can find a link to the article on Dr. Fong's website at https://edsantennas.weebly.com/about.html
