Best performing dual band mobile antenna

    Thanks to the both of you. When I looked on their webpage I couldn't see the 2/70

    Which is the recommended one, taking into account that I don't need to worry about trees :D

    You want the NMO2/70BK. That is an NMO2/70, in black, and the K means that is also has a mounting kit. The mounting kit is the NMO, through hole mount, including the coax cable, and a PL259 replete with the reducer included in the package. It should be noted, that HRO and AES don't carry the complete antenna. Rather they offer the two pieces which make up the complete antenna.

    One thing to keep in mind is that the 70cm band in the UK is from 430-440, while in the USA the repeater portion is 440-450 MHz. This means an antenna sold for use in the USA may not tune properly for the UK band, or it may have high SWR.

    So, make sure that the antenna you order will cover the 430 portion, as well as 2M. I'm pretty sure the Larsen is 440-450 and 144-148.

    Thanks to you and Alan. I downloaded the data sheet and had a look. UHF is a secondary consideration and is rarely used so its not a massive loss.
