Almost all Homeplug in-home power line modem devices create severe interference to the 60 meter ham band ( 5 MHz ) within a radius of about 400 feet. The devices are being proliferated by Internet service provider companies offering "solutions" as an alternative to Wi-Fi from the entry point of the home to the user computer, as well as for VOIP devices.
