ARRL CEO Tom Gallagher, NY2RF, to Retire

Property tax deduction to be limited to $10,000 under new law. If he has higher taxes in CT, he may want to move to a state with lower property taxes. But still doesn't sound like a reason to retire. Might be mentioning it to avoid giving the real reason. But at 69 he should be able do what he wants without giving any reason.

 

Just what the hell does the ARRL do anyway? They ain't worth a crap! They are a pompous bunch of idiots with fabricated solutions looking for a fabricated problem to solve while the make money selling a useless magazine and even more useless insurance! They have put more CB ers on the air than Lafayette Radio. The Japs love them because they get to sell radios to their moronic brain dead followers. Trump needs to get rid of all Amateur Radio licensing and let the World Amateur Radio Council issue call signs! Ham radio is a dead as a door nail. Technology has passed it buy. A 10 year old kid with an Iphone can talk around the world.

 

.... and that ten year old will learn nothing; be disconnected from and incapable of helping his/her community; never venture to make or innovate; know nothing about having the camaraderie of friends all over the world; and be removed from the challenge and romance that comes from a flow of electrons magically providing reality at a distance.
