    Hi All,

I am attempting to setup a connection between my laptop and my Yaesu FT-1900R for APRS and I have run into a roadblock or sorts. I am running UI-View32 and AGWPE on the laptop and have been able to successfully receive APRS data and link my GPS to UI-View32, as well as configure the software to TX my location data via the soundcard. However, the point where I am stuck is where I make the input connection from the 1/8" audio jack to the RJ-11 mic jack on the FT-1900R.

I have a diagram of the pins on the jack, but what I don't understand is how the computer will key the PTT wire on the jack and then transmit the data? Basically, I need to know how to build a wire between the RJ-11 and the 1/8" stereo or mono plug and make it work properly. Is this possible to do with this radio without a hardware TNC?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Tim

I would suggest getting your log in identification changed to your call. Doing so will give you a lot more posting privileges here on QRZ.com.

Could you point me in the direction of how to do so?

    Thanks,
