    Huff-n-puff frequency stabilizer.
    At least it looks similar to the one I put in an old TS-120 I had years ago.
    Probably a homebrew version.

    K3RU - You're definitely on the right track with the dial speed control. I haven't removed it again from the radio to map the circuit, but I did a quick experiment with the dial. If I turn the dial real slow, it moves about 2Khz per rev. If I spin the dial real fast, it's change the dial rate to about 20Khz per rev. Pretty slick. Based on that, I'm thinking that the other IC might be a micro. Since I still need to get the power amp back to working, I haven't used the radio any, but it does receive quite well and it doesn't suffer from the display dot disease. Thanks for pointed in that direction.
