Hemingway defined the Code Hero as "a man who lives correctly, following the ideals of honor, courage and endurance in a world that is sometimes chaotic, often stressful, and always painful." To me Dave always seemed to be a morally upstanding version of that, a hero in the Morse code too, and in photos bears an uncanny resemblance to the famous American author / adventurist.
