Will be getting my first amp soon. Does anyone know what plugs/jacks & cables are needed for connecting the Alpha 9500 linear amp by RF Concepts to a
Yaesu FT 1000MP. Is there a prefab cable available or does one order individual parts and get the soldering gun out? Any other advice for a new amp newbie is welcomed too. Thank's in advance for your help!

Download the 9500 manual from here.

Make sure your station is ready for a legal limit amp.
You need 240V service. If you don't have it or can't get it cancel the order. The 9500 was never designed to run from 120V.
Make sure all of your coax is in good shape.? No kinks or sharp bends? Get rid of the RG-8X and get some RG-213 class coax.
Been using cheap PL-259's? They may stand up but might not.
Do you have to run a tuner on any/all bands? Is it rated for at least full legal power?
Will your antenna handle 1500W? When is the last time you inspected the traps on that tribander?
    Good station ground?

You transceiver manual can tell you more about what's neccesary to run an amp than the amp manual.
At a minimum you need coax between TRX output connector and amp input, and a keying line between the TRX key out jack and the amp key in jack.
You can by prefab RCA cables for the control lines from Radio Shack.
Youcan also buy prefab coax jumpers for TRX to amp but where's the fun in that?

Thank's for the info - I've got the 240 V already to go. Just needed to get the cable details ready.

Yes, you're lucky. Most rigs today require the constrution of a cable that uses some very small and weirdly numbered connectors. With the FT-1000MP to the Alpha you need a RCA phono plug cable and a coax jumper. See your manual on how to connect them. Do not use the diagram for the QSK setup, use the one that shows the FL-2100B. The Alpha can do QSK so if you're going to work CW then it would be a good idea to follow the QSK instrutions. The difference between the FL-2100B and the Alpha is you would just plug in the RCA phono plug cable into the proper jack. Turn switch S2001 on the back of the rig to the "ON" position.
The Alpha does not have an ALC system so keep your drive power down to 50W.
    That's it, you're done!!!!
    Good luck
