Like the title says, I'm looking to wire up an Alinco EMS-14 desk mic to my Ft-450. I already have the CAT-5 cable sitting here, and cut, but haven't a clue what wire goes with what. Is it possible to use this mic with this rig? The mic is powered off the rig. I don't care much if the up and down buttons work. I have the Alinco mic just sitting here collecting dust, and I'm tired of using the stock hand mic that came with the FT-450. I hope this is possible as I don't have the money to buy a new mic at this time. I always got good reports running that mic on my DX-70, and enjoyed using it. If anyone has any info on this combo, I would like to hear it. Thanks!

Category 5 cable is Unshielded Twisted Pair -- NO Shielding for audio line.
I have NEVER been an advocate or "fan" of this approach.

Too many years working in sound reinforcement and broadcast industry where "clean audio" was
the sound or broadcast engineer's "mission from God" (e.g. station owner, recording or performing artist).
