Summits on the Air rules allow the activating station to operate off summit- 25 meters or 80 feet below the high point. Nice video and I'm sure many appreciate the scrolling marque translation for non-CW types. I would have enjoyed seeing the full setup (battery, key, antenna, etc) as part of the full story. Thanks for posting.
I used to climb there often. It's still hard to go there and NOT bring climbing equipment. I'd really like to climb Monkey Face and do POTA from the top
My QTH is approx 8 miles NW of Smith Rock State Park. The video is a wonderful representation of the area, Sage Brush and Juniper Trees and lots of Peaks to climb and play radio on! (also some Great Trout fishing Rivers & Lakes close by) Well Done! 73 de KD7RTE Dave

Fantastic, I see the three sisters in the distance I think? Where is the trail head, looks like I could ride my 78 Honda CT90 up their, I am in no shape for a long hike. I enjoy your SOTA activations, nice and easy CW speed, un like contests. were you QRP 5 watts or less? Merry Christmas.
