Broken Top, a crumbly volcano part of the Oregon Cascades, hadn't been activated since 2016. It had been on my list to climb since moving to Oregon. Finally headed up solo to play radio. I had the summit block to myself for a good hour. With great conditions I was able to hit 20m cw, 40 ssb, and 40cw. Thanks to everyone who chased me! 73 de Tim N7KOM
Great hike/climb video. Looking forward to doing a little of the same here in Oregon myself. Thanks for sharing!
A good video from an adventurer who knows how far he can go. A casual acquaintace of mine will get horrified, when she sees such things like that. She smashed her knee in thousand pieces, after jumping 2 meters down in a bouldering hall. At next the portabel transceiver with the small antenna solutions is great. On a summit, nearly 1000 meters above, on a narrow stone trail. Thats more a kind of extreme hamradio. Hope that this will always end safely in the future, too.
I kept looking for you to hand jam that crack. It must of been to shallow, the camera must of made it look deeper. Fun video!
Sorry I didn't see it posted. I'd have worked you on 20 and 40 both modes from my QTH in Crook County up on a ridge about 50 miles east of where you were. From my place I can see 3 Sisters, Broken top and Mt. Batchelor unless it is smokey like today
WOW, scary video. for a second I thought we might fall off the cat walk ! great video with wonderful views. Thanks for the ride. Art W4ATO
