Wow! Be careful...some define Yellowstone as a dormant volcano, and Yellowstone mudpots as (mud)volcanoes driven by magmatic heat..and most of the NH White Mountains are ancient volcanoes, eroded over eons. I think your intent is for ones that have been magmatically active in the last...100,000 years? GREAT idea..just needs a little clarification
Sliding down a snow face is great--until you see rocks that have been pushed aside, thus wondering what hidden pointy stuff is underneath you... I did that in the Alps many years ago and was loudly chided in German, French, AND Italian / First and last time Tim--Great trek and terrific videography
I was on St Helens when she blew. I was near Cougar on the Swift Reservoir when she let go! Been to Trout Lake just south of Adams many many times!
Spent many years driving mostly the west side of that mountain back in the early 1980's. Picked a lot of huckleberries, spent many hours on a snowmobile traversing that area. Good Times - Helped a guy build a log cabin in Trout Lake. A dormant volcano, but so was St. Helens until it wasn't.
I live in the Bingen and go up to the GP quite often. How bad were the mosquitos? Nicely done! I need to monitor 5.2 more often! Videos like this are inspiring me to get off my butt and get into shape. Looking forward to activating my first summit this summer. Probably start with a one or two pointer. Wind Mountain or Dog Mountain come to mind. Baby steps! Thanks for the great video.
Shouldn't this be called, "VOTA?" CQ, CQ, CQ VOTA, this is special event station OK5RAP on Mt. St. Helens and please answer quickly as she is about to blow. Pheel,
