Excellent Video Mr. Davis How about some links to go with this that discusses those in detail (think I see some on your youtube page) Thanks for what you do to make this the 'Hobby of a Thousand Hobbies"
Nice video. I missed the easy way to decode hamradio digital modes and CW signals on shortwave. The way of recording for to listen later. And the bandwith check, when the SDR is used for Tx/Rx.
Yes it's OK to get free music from the pirate radio stations. But the music is not free. Someone is having to fork out a lot of money to get the music recorded. That means the musicians and the composer loose out in not being paid any form of royalty for their work.
yes, so we should send money directly to the artists! sending money to the record companies does not get the money to the artists.
I have recently used a NESDR SMArt and GQRX for monitoring APRS to find out my car was not transmitting. Power Plug worked loose. I also used a RSP1 and SDRConsole (V3) to monitor a local repeater rumored to be announcing the wrong time. The jury is out on the last one, I have 775 GB of audio to sort through . 73, Larry WB8LBZ EL Paso, TX
What about the writer, producer, engineer, marketing, management, agent, etc. etc.? If the artist does not like the contract being offered, they should not sign. They can take on the duties other people normally handle at a record company instead. Instead of parroting words you hear, think critically and do the research. You and others around you will be better for it.
The NUMBER ONE reason for using SDR's is when you are running a net. Very few NCS's run their nets without an SDR in one ear. 73 j
Great timing on this, a coworker approached me Friday asking for advice because his father-in-law is interested in getting his ticket. I recommended an SDR dongle to start playing with and I’m reprogramming an HT for receive only for him to listen too. I’ll be sharing this video with him.
The RTL-SDR can be used on android with the proper On-The-Go cable and software. As far as antenna in that situation I do not have a recommendation.
KC0TFI Thank you for your information. Also, please tell me one. You can't hear digital waves, right? 73 JF1IRQ
