You've seen the light !!!! I'm glad you are coming over to the Icom side! Beats the heck out of the Xiegu G90 or the Yaesu variants that you've been using with all the doo-dads and extra wires required! I think you'll love the Icom and the simplicity that will come with this setup.... Great stuff. Keep it coming !
Thank you! I agree. Outstanding video and radio. Thanks for the current consumption data! Now, can you eliminate the USB cable and use Bluetooth for GPS, Audio, and Cat control at the same time? That would leave just one connection for antenna for a fully functional setup. Plus external power if you like. I may have to get one!
Great video Julian! I agree with your past assessment of the ft-818 and the evolving SDR market space. I just got a G90 and am having fun with that and it has a much better receiver than the 818 IMHO once you get your head wrapped around it... Things are moving fast in this space and thanks for keeping us informed!! 73 -Mike

I was planning on waiting for a 2nd gen, just a rule of thumb in case there are improvements. But I can't seem to find a bad review on it. Maybe they would add a tuner? Great review as always and I have been eagerly awaiting your review. Thanks.
Because everyone only shows what the radio looks like. The maximum is QSO with neighbors. No one has shown, for example, how it receive in the presence of powerful stations nearby ...
I really thought you’d like it!!! (only Joking). Thank you for an amazing video, chock full of information on what seems to be an amazing Radio.
This is a very comprehensive review of the IC-705. Amazing how capable and well engineered the rig is. Thank you! Julian
No. It seems to be (and it is) an cheap crappy Radio. And the video clearly shows it. A video like this could show that 705 could be an expensive but same crappy Radio. Unfortunately many users now usually see in radio just another cool gadget, not radio, and marketers makes gadgets, not radio... P.S. Respect for the author, the video is great.
