Hello everyone, my name is Graham KD9NTQ. I am a young operator out of Illinois. I recently started a young amateur radio club as I noticed the lack of people my age in the hobby. The club is open to anyone anywhere and is completely free. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at KD9NTQ@gmail.com and if you consider joining click the link here: http://ilyh.org/join/
Good luck, i hope you have success in drawing some members in from around the state. I see you belong to the North Shore Radio Club, I've only heard good things about that club. So keep up the good work, and hope to hear you on bands. Mike
Was an SWLer at age 12, much fun. Keep up the good work. It pay's off & gives some great memory's .... ..
It is great to see young hams organizing. I see that you already have a few members and that is great, a few with no calls, hopefully they are studying up. I wish you the best of luck. Don't give up like my crew did with the North American Youth Net. I also really hope that you and your crew continue to find the joy in the hobby, when I think back at the gang of young hams who tried to do NAYN most probably haven't been on the air in a long time.
Things are starting small, but I'm happy to be part of the club. I've really enjoyed being part of the Discord server so far and can't wait to see things grow as time goes on!
Graham KD9NTQ will be my interview guest in an upcoming episode of the ICQ Podcast (see icqpodcast.com).
Congratulations! When you get your feet on the ground, send a letter introducing the club and its contact information to all the middle- and high school guidance counselors in the state. They usually know who the active and involved students are and could pass on your contact info to those who they think might be interested. I'll bet the Illinois State Board of Education ( https://www.isbe.net/ ) or the Illinois School Counselor Association ( https://ilschoolcounselor.org/ )could put together a list of email addresses for you to send a PDF attachment to. Good luck! I'd love to see you pull in an eclectic, statewide membership. P.S. Send a copy of your introduction to all the ARRL-affiliated clubs ( Search for Illinois clubs on the ARRL Club Search page http://www.arrl.org/find-a-club ) in the state. Most special service clubs have Elmer coordinators who could do the same thing.

Hello everyone! I apologize for the necropost, but we've moved our homepage to ilyh.club. It's still heavily under construction, but will point you in the right direction.
