Ham Radio Deluxe News: Ham Radio Deluxe Version 6.4.0.647 Released

HRD Software, LLC announces the release of Version 6.4.0.647, “post-Dayton” 15% off sale

Ham Radio Deluxe Version 6.4.0.647 is now available to the public. This release, combined with the 638 build released earlier this year, includes a total of 32 features, enhancements and improvements. Enhancements the include long-awaited addition of the QRZCQ and the free HamQTH call-sign lookup services, improvements to DX cluster, a fix for remote server, improved database performance, and other rig control enhancements. According to Dr. Mike Carper, WA9PIE,“Since we acquired the software assets of Ham Radio Deluxe in 2011, we have had over 25 software releases and about 300 fixes and enhancements.”

A process began on January 1, 2017 to move the business and operational management functions to the two remaining owners, Carper and Randy Gawtry (K0CBH). Carper adds, “We have moved everything to the cloud. Our new website, peer support forums, help ticket, and bug tracking systems are all hosted in Google Cloud. A new webstore and order fulfillment system will be online in June. We are in the process of changing to a new cloud-based software license server. All these moves have automated many of our processes to give us and our customers improved speed and reliability.”

I don't get it. Version 6.4.0.647 was released over a month ago. And it ticks me off when staff at the hamvention said there would be no discounting on the website this year. I could of saved money by not having to pay Ohio sales tax by waiting a few days.

 

The 6.4.0.647 did a "soft release" about a month ago. We had not planned on announcing it in a press release until just after Dayton.

At the time of the Hamvention, we had not determined when or if we were having a sale. But many people requested an online sale with the same 15% that we offered at Dayton. None of us knew there would be an online sale. Additionally, it's unlikely that we'll ever pre-announce sales. We seldom know far enough in advance.

 

In the past your online sales have coincided with various hamfests that you have been attending.
You also made a point of saying that the .647 release would be the last one prior to Dayton when you released it back in April. Your press release is like yesterday's news tomorrow.

 

Sounds like a July 4th sale is in order.

hi, i like the idea of 15% off, i went to enter my Callsign at checkout but i cant enter the hole Callsign VK2FMOD it will only except 6 out of the 7 letters/numbers
