I always though it was better to wait until you were middle aged, until you became a Ham. That way, you could have a job, a life, and a family, before you got permanently damaged by RF radiation !!!
Honestly - if RF caused serious mutations - we Humans would be in really big trouble - look at the enormous broadband RF energy generated by lightning strikes (which you can hear on a decent receiver thousands of miles away) , that have been occurring for much longer than we humans have been on the planet.... I agree Neil is a top notch advocate for our wonderful hobby and I love his podcasts !! Well Done !!
My post was an attempt a humor. I personally have been bathing in RF and cosmic rays since a very young age and it hasn't harmed me yet The real hazard is "radioing" your life away...
Just because jus about any group of Hams you look at seem to be escapees from the STARWARS CAFE does NOT mean it was caused by RF. Most of them obtained 'the look' through natural causes.
