Here is a part 1 of the complete setup and SWR check of the antenna.

Good video especially the saftey warning. However, you may consider using a separate cameraman in the future.
The moving camera can make a guy dizzy.

There have been a couple of partials on CW years ago all from New England OTOH Id have thought one of the JT modes would have succeeded by now.

Nice video of putting together and checking out of a decent antenna. But could someone tell me how this is NEWS?
I mean shouldn't this be in the antenna forum?

Your Yagi-Uda is by no means 'wideband', so please do not claim this.

It has roughly a 2% passband for a 2:1 SWR.

Failure continues at the 150KW ERP level...narrower MFSK modes are dictated.

K1HC and K1DG (separately) are exploring seriously from Maine....

A previous failure used a 100 foot Yagi (using rope boom). Clever! That effort is reminscent of the first moonbounce, which happened at VHF and used a 24dBd antenna...

Dave PJ4VHF heard the 20 watt D4C/B beacon on CW across the Atlantic.

Unfortunately there was no one at the Beacon site to make it a 2 way.
Dave was using 2 stacked 13B2 yagis.

Since then NP2X has heard the D4C/B beacon and the NP2X/B beacon was
heard by D44TS. Still no 2 way QSO.

Helped a fellow ham put up 4 phased 13b2's back in the late '90's He at least reached St Kitts and I have to guess EU. He probably did not know there was an award. Chuck K4grp.

Can you please educate me on this? When testing right now the highest SWR i have is 1.6:1, the lowest 1.1:1, from 144-148mhz.

Wideband usually means at least a 100% bandwidth, which would be a 2:1 BW.

    A 100% BW at 144 MHz would be 144- 288 MHz.

OOHH, i got it.. OK, well, it is advertised as a wideband, so my experience on it is unlike other yagis i have used, where i had to tune it either SSB or FM, this antenna is very low SWR across the "2 meter bandplan"..

The 13B2 is not a wideband antenna, but it is a wideband Yagi since it covers more than the typical 2%. To get the wider bandwidth, some other parameter is sacrificed (gain, front to back, side lobes).
