    Charles E. Presnell, Sr.
    September 29, 1940 - November 17, 2016

    Charles Edward Presnell, Sr., 76, of Litchfield, passed away Thurs., Nov. 17, 2016 at 6:27 p.m. in HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. He was born on Sept. 29, 1940 in Granite City, IL, the son of Charles R. & Margaret M. (Kelley) Presnell. He graduated from Belleville West High School with the Class of 1958 and was a member of the Black Knights Marching Band there. Charles worked as an Overhead Crane Operator for Granite City Steel Company for 35 years and retired in 1996. He had also owned and operated “The Brass Rack,” a family clothing store in Litchfield. He was a licensed ham operator “AC9P,” an R.V. and Jeep fanatic and enjoyed traveling. He was known for keeping a beautiful yard and enjoyed his dog, “Cujo.” He married Karen Kay Eickmeyer on June 15, 1986 in Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She survives.
