Good report (I muted the sound and read English subtitles). By the way, it appears FT8 will not be allowed in Winter Field Day according to the revised rules: https://www.winterfieldday.com/rules -Chris VA3ECO
I Have to record in english it would be good if there were more contest to issue FT8, I am counting on it
I like how it also says in the rules: "Modes: Any mode… CW, SSB, AM, FM, DStar, C4FM, DMR, Packet, PSK, SSTV, RTTY, Olivia, Satellite, etc…"
I has been my very first contest and I am proud of the 260 contacts I managed to make Good fun, hard work and an excercise. 73 de M6OIZ
How come they are okay with internet (DStar) connections and all the other macro modes but call the most used and popular (at the moment) FT8 mode "not an acceptable mode"? Since ARRL has noted that FT8 meets the requirements for a HF contact who made FT8 "Not Acceptable?"
Is that simply not updated from last year? Or are they trying to discourage fully automated contacts?
Has anybody bothered to check if WSJT-X v.2 is compatible with the required exchange? Don't ask me to do it. After trying FT8 in the RU, FT8 contesting is not for me. Using the free text box for every QSO would be a pain in the derriere.
It is supported then, and the contest organizers are anti-FT8? No need to be rude. Telling a ham to read is uncalled for. I don't use WSJT-X, I'm a JTDX 'fanboy', as another Zedder labelled me. Could JS8Call be used as well?
