W2GCS posted some SSB Filters on TS 440 yahoo forum for sale. He and I agreed on a set price. I sent him the money order which he verified he got. To be honest it did take me 3 weeks after the initial offer to get him the money order because of travel with work, but i stayed in contact with him. So none the less I sent him the money order to his QRZ.com address. He verified he got. After a week he said he finally made it to post office. Well that will be 2 weeks ago this Saturday. I have tried to email him repeatedly to let him know I have not received the filter and asked him to provide tracking info. I am fully aware that the post offices loses stuff, but it been nearly 2 weeks and W2GCS will not email me back. I am an going to report this to the local authorities and US post office on this coming Monday. I understand I am probably out the money I sent him but I hope this may prevent anyone else from also getting ripped off. If i do receive the filter I will post here to let everyone know situation has been rectified. I am hoping for a good ending to the stressful transaction

If anyone else has a TS 440 SSB filter for sale let me know....i will only use Paypal from now on.

Mr. Dennis J Knutson AKA 'doc denny', 'the handyman' Sold me an Icom IC-7000 rig that included several accessories. A monitor included in the ad was not working on arrival, yet he refuses to pay for a replacement or let me return it. He sent photos showing how he had the items hooked up prior to shipment, and these clearly show he has the monitor hooked up to the wrong port, thus damaging the monitor before shipment. He claims the monitor was working prior to shipment, however the monitor was hooked up to the CI-V port, NOT the video output port.

Upon arrival, powering the monitor up I saw two small red circles of failed pixels, which he also did not indicate in the ad. The monitor would display no video or even the menus for adjusting the picture.

After several emails with Mr. Knutson, he claims I am incompetent and I damaged the monitor because I don't know how to hook it up. However, the photos he sent me CLEARLY show he has the monitor hooked to the wrong jack and probably damaged it before shipment. Since Mr. Knutson claims the monitor was working before shipment, I asked him to either replace the monitor or begin filing a shipment insurance claim, as the monitor was NOT working on arrival. He refuses to answer my emails at this point.

Here's the first photo Mr. Knutson sent me, he also drew on the photo trying to show which port it was attached to. Notice he draws it hooked up to two different ports, indicating he didn't really know which one it was hooked up to. Notice the video cable (gray cable) is attached to the CI-V port.

The photos make it pretty clear, Mr. Knutson had the monitor incorrectly attached, yet claims it was working as he had it hooked up before he shipped.
