I feel compelled to post to this thread, not only for Steve wdØct's behalf but also for Mike n4dia.
The info in the link and other places I have read are very damning, the info in these articles lead one to believe that this is our friend Mike n4dia.
I'm not 100% positive therefore I cannot point my finger and feel good about doing so.
I would however feel better if Mike n4dia would respond to these allegations to set the record straight and clear his good name.

This is still America and the presumption of innocence does apply. What proof has been put forward other than the article in CT's link (no, I didn't "buy" the entire article). As far as I know the only thing they have in common is a name.
Even if it is true how many of the virtuous an squeaky clean around here could stand up to the same scutiny? Maybe a few of the rock throwers ought to check the closets in their own glass houses before spouting off.

I am very confused as to the reason these threads have been posted. Am I missing something? Who is this fellow and what did he do?
I am not big on rumor mills, but I did read these news articles about a fellow with the same name. With not much more than 10 minutes of "Googling", I found a lot of internet material linking this amateur callsign to US Navy pilot related websites. So without discussing the details, it is very suscpicious, but my question is what does this person have to do with QRZed?

I reread the first post, and I'm still not understanding.
I got a speeding ticket back in 2001. I doubt any newspaper articles will say anything to that affect, but it happened.
Should I expect posts in the future about my driving record?
How is this relevant to anything? Did this person do something wrong here on QRZ? He might have done something illegal in the past, but why are we discussing it here? Is that any of our business?
I am trying to connect the dots...does this have something to do with the bannings?

I have been silent on this forum hoping that cool heads will prevail, but I feel that I must say something.
Several of us have been investigating the claims made by N4DIA of his military service. Why? Because some of what he said to us did not add up and he was using his heroics in the navy as a means in which he intimidated others via emails as the Editor of QRZ.
All evidence leads us to believe that N4DIA and the man in the news articles are one and the same.
If you do not have any hard proof, it would be best for you not to say anything.
The truth will come out, just wait and you will see what we have uncovered.
Till then keep your arguments and baiting away from this subject. All it does is reduce any credibility to what has been discovered.
If N4DIA has military records to prove his service to be genuine, we ask that he provide these in order to clear his name.
Thank you.

Ah, nevermind.
But on another note - so what? All that happened 12 years ago. Even security applications only ask for felony convictions within tha past 7 years.
So - what's the big deal? Live and let life.

I also have a speeding ticket as well as another traffic violation in my past. Both have since rolled off DMV due to the age of them.
I felt I'd rather reveal this now than have one of the people on here research my past and try to spin that because I was 8 mph over the speed limit, I'm a scumbag.
Thank you for allowing me this venue to vent about my previous brushes with the law, may the judgement by QRZ at large as to what I really am now begin.

Actually it asks, "Have you ever been charged with or convicted of any felony offence? (include those under the Uniform Code of Military Justice)."
The seven year question states, "In the last 7 years, have you been arrested for, charged with, or convicted of any offenses not listed in response to a, b, c, d, or e above? (Leave out traffic fine of less than $150 unless the violation was alcohol or drug related)"
The application is worded in a way where you are required to list all felony offences in your history. An applicant that fails to disclose all offenses will find their application delayed with the possibility of denial (the fate of the clearance lies in the hands of a complex adjudication process)
Both quotes above originate from question 23 of the SF-86 Questionaire for National Security Positions.

Oh, and lest I forget, before someone discovers it and chastises me for it also, yes, I've also been divorced. Wouldn't want anyone to find that out, and, since I didn't mention it, toss me onto the fire for that also. Full disclosure otherwise I'll be burned at the QRZ stake.

Precisely the number Sidney Bernstien had in "Beverly Hills Cop II".
Eddie Murphy would have let you off for $200 and access to your computer for a few minutes.
Course, the tickets in the movie were supposedly due to his wife.....
