I had started a Thread Titled "Top Gun" Imposter.
After thinking about my actions over night, I Decided it was BEST for the Site and all those invloved if I asked to have the thread removed.

The Thread was removed at MY REQUEST !

If you have financial assets, the laws are quite harsh for wrongly publishing info about someone, so that is why the QRZ ad hoc Liberal/Conservative research team have been taking their time, dotting their i's, crossing their t's and the rest of us have been minding our p's and q's.

Are you sure it is "former editor"? The reason I ask is that I have seen one or two that have always been listed as moderator that are now listed as subscriber. N4DIA was listed as super administrator but now listed as subscriber.

Taking this into consideration I would think that if one were to recently subscribe their "group designation" would read subscriber. I will consider this to be a possibility unless you can provide other evidence that N4DIA has in fact been relieved of his other duties.

Other than that I see some things that happened in 1993. I do not see anything current enough to warrant everything that is being thrown around. While what is being said appears to be true it is also 13 years old.

I also have not seen anything that would lead me to believe QRZ.com or Fred should get involved. I do not understand the comments regarding Fred trying to find a way to "break it to the members."

So, I will ask, am I missing something? Is there something more recent that should have a bearing on what we think or how we feel today? If not I say give it a rest.

Gordon, I agree more now than before that you did the right thing when you asked that your thread be removed. This showed a lot of integrity on your part and reinforced the view I have held of you for sometime now. Two thumbs up!

Even IF he did wrong, what is gained by publicizing (*sp) it to such extremes ? Can some one go through YOUR personal past in 10 - 15 years and drag it out for all the public to see ?

The older/ other thread disappeared, but now this one is rapidly taking its place. Will there be a third one to replace this one by this time next week ?

Do I also have to prove that I former Navy? I don't own a scanner, so I can not scan any of my pictures of me in uniform nor any of the places I have been. I can prove that I am married. My username on yahoo is mrchrisrose and my profile has a picture of me with my wife and son. Perhaps if I could find a good cheap digital camera that works on Linux I could possibly try taking a photo of a photo and upload it with a link. Until then, can my word simply be accepted?

I thought about similar ways of saying that but decided it wouldn't hold any water since I am just a lowly member and can't ban anyone. If I could I would click the wrong thing and ban myself.
