Putting aside the stress on qrz today and yesterday I noted on point someone made in those arguments that actually I found intersting.
Mentioned were made that alot here in qrz have made friends or alliances.
True and alot in the last several months with the qrz nets.
Some have brought and sold to each other. Others work each other regularly.
Then the famous questions and answers. I have learned who usually has more info on a given subject quickly.
The religious debates might seem negative but actually I get a basic idea about most people here from them.
There are some like CIA and FRF I have yet to work and seem to always miss the nets nowadays.
And as stated many times.. where would be be without Rob's humour? Or my spelling? Or ILP thinking of new Phonetics for his call?
Let's have some friendly comments now.

Well, I can't say I have made any alliances per se but I have met some great people here. Yes I have also bought and sold here too. (Hows that antenna working out?) Occasionally I exchange e-mails with a few people just to catch up although I think I owe a few now. Even one of the Mods...Now thats one very cool human being. (who has been MIA lately but I suspect is out 4 wheeling in a jeep somewhere)
As for the boards? Well....people and personalties. I'm entertained and educated more often than not.

Right now it's down pending our move (which the situation changes daily http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif ) But when i did have it up it worked great! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Tuned out all but 80m which was my faukt cause I didn't have time then to put the radials on or mess around with the whip at the top.
When we move I plan to use it for whatever I can't tune a loop or wire antenna out for.

I enjoy a lot of the things here on QRZ. #Some of the Ragchew stuff gets a little personal, and a little old, but I certainly do miss some posters, and appreciate a lot of them.
I miss WX7B. #The guy was blunt, but articulate, and insightful, and I always respected his opinion, even if they sometimes didn't agree with mine. #Dave's a stand-up guy, and I respect him.
I miss AC0H for the same reasons as Dave. #Kevin I know for fact is a great guy.
I always appreciate a post by WA5KRP. #Danny has a great sense of humor, and one of the hams I'd probably enjoy meeting. #
Same can by said for W3SY. #He's just funny. #I'll bet I know just what he must have been like in high school.
Strangely, I find myself missing KG4KWW. #His posts were off the wall, but sometimes very entertaining. #
W5HTW comes to mind. #The guy is a true ham and a great guy.
WB2WIK is much the same.
K6UEY always has very interesting things to read, maybe not so much here in Ragchew, but here's a guy that has also been around, and I enjoy his viewpoint too.
N6WK was my first on air contact from the QRZ bunch, and Gordon is a class act all the way.
Folks, there are so many good guys on this board, we do get carried away sometimes, but just think of the entertainment that we've all gotten from this place. #I know I've left a lot of names out, but I've really come to appreciate reading comments; especially from so many different viewpoints. #
Anyway, you wanted something to be said nice, so I've said mine!
I have met numerous interesting characters on QRZ. Every single one of them enjoyable to converse with. Despite beliefs in politics, religion, or other topics, we are all hams and we have that bond that allows us to debate the issues and walk away with a handshake at the end of it all.
Some of the people I thought were wackos are actually quite friendly people who actually have good thoughts and ideas of their own. I have had knock down drag outs with one gentleman and the guy is watching PMing me assuring that I watch out for scams and traps on the net. Words cannot describe the gratitude I have for this gentleman.
Then, there are people who I see have actually read some of the things I have written when I thought no one looked. Also, helping someone on Q & A in PM sessions is great as well. I like to see the little light bulb light up when the description and explanation comes through.
No one can ever get tired of the newest ILP phonetic.
We are a bunch of guys and gals from many different countries, cultures, backgrounds, and professions, but we have the interest in radio in common. It is that special bond that creates an acceptance of others despite our differences. One guy the other day was surprised that I posted something that he agreed with. I believe that we dwell too much on our disagreements and to liitle in what we have in common. Believe me, we all have a lot in common. If you look for it, you will find it.

I've enjoyed all the CW help and encouragement ya'll have given over the past two years! From AF2CW's occassional PM and Gordon's offer of setting up a sched, and several other comments from the rest of you.
Many of you were with me when I made my first CW contact. I will say one thing, ya'll give some good advice http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Good to see the other YL's getting help as well - like KI4NZU.
It's great getting to work all of you on the HF nets or at random on CW as well.
NOT - I'll be coming through Canada in July 2007 (and each summer thereafter for a while) so we'll get a chance to work phone and CW -- provided you're not moving too far away. I'm looking forward to running a 20 meter or 15 meter net from Fairbanks ...
I've yet to have an eyeball QSO with a QRZ member - besides AI4FP - so, who's going to Huntsville Hamfest this year?
It's great getting to make friends with N6WK, KE5FRF (even if you are a TN fan), KD5ZER, AI4FP, AI4EP, and the rest of ya!

I found that annoying at first, but then it kinda grew on me.
There's plenty of folks I disagree with, but I would rather not see them banned (permanently).
I find the banter here appealing if I am down about my own problems, even if some of the stuff gets old (Bush is great/evil, code etc).
Have yet to work the net due to work timing.

The enjoyment of QRZ is inversely proportional to the time spent in the ragchew forum and directly proportional to the time spent in the amateur radio forums and Q&A.

Don't get me wrong, I really have nothing personal against KWW, I just think he has a hard time knowing where to draw the line which can be both frustrating and annoying.
I do hope he finds his way back but without some of the topics he liked to post about so frequently.

Yeah, I see what you are saying, but as a teacher, I've always lived by the idea that I try to find something good about everyone and like them for it. I would guess that some of you would like to see a list of those who have been banned / warned / etc since the first of July 2006. It might be interesting to read, but I dont think any one of the authority figures here on qrz would see a need to publish such information for the general public to read.
Lots of rumors and e - mails and P M being sent around confuses folks even more.
Personally I got 26 PM last night, yet none tonight...all of last nights P M got deleted by me .
But on a positive note, things ARE looking better, I still have 2 choices --- 1) behave myself 2) log out .

Now with all the positives there have been the odd negatives. Not counting a few things this morning several months back I was starting a ham radio page and it had a guestbook. This was quickly spammed. Comments were made on it about my family etc. Thus I have no ham page up anymore.
BUT
I received emails from alot of qrz member (and I was new to the forum) tyelling me there were always black sheep but the majority of qrz appreciated my posts. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Leno show ?
Is that STILL on tv ? Cant NBC do any better than that ? I guess not. He cusses more than Howard Stern, yet no one makes an issue of it. If it werent for the vulgar jokes / etc there would be no show. They may have better ratings showing old " black & white tv westerns from the 1950 s " ( at least there was a basic plot to those shows !! )

Agreed.
Interestingly, I have found most of the people here very nice and it has been great being a part of QRZ the last few years. I've made new friends and enjoyed conversing and debating topics that I couldn't otherwise do elsewhere. To me, that is what is unique about QRZ. Finding interesting and intelligent people from so many parts of the country and world that I have learned so much from. I find it sad (and sometimes shocking) when someone is banned, having been there myself.

http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif Yep, just flipped over to see the LENO show...some blonde woman with hardly any clothes on laughing and talking away. She expects folks to respect her, yet dresses like THAT. ..I saw enough in about 15 seconds to change channels back where I was ( I will leave you to guess ). Women who dress like that deserve what bad publicity they get for getting television dressed like that.
No I aint advocating " turtle necks sweaters and long johns " but the tv network sensors ( if there ARE any left ) should require the folks who will be " on stage " to at least wear appropiate clothing.

I've been here a while now. And I wouldn't be I guess if I didn't enjoy all the different comments from everyone. I was going to comment on someone's post in the "Just The Facts" thread, but THAT's been decided for me too. Everyone could comment in there except me. But that fine because I guess it wasn't important.
I think the wise man says that in order to make a community, that Everyone is important, and does a part to make up that community. Otherwise if just one person is the most interesting and that's why we are here, then that makes us an audience.

Not to sound contrary, but I wish there was more policing done on eHam. #The same people with the same rants that have nothing to do with the topic at hand gets a neer sight tiresome. #You know, the I-hate-ARRL-and-commie-pinko-liberals-have-everything to-do-with-the-dumbing-down-of-the-hobby routine. #

Gee. Golly gee. wow.
Nah, I like the way e-ham does theri "produst reports ", fairly well organized. If yoou are looking for reports on a certain model of a certain brand of radio, you dont find a antenna rotor in the next thread, or a tnc box...so ...on THAT level, e-ham is better than any site I have ever visited.
The part I dont like about e-ham is ---you will start looking for a product report on a certain model of a certain brand of radio when ---BLAM---there is a whole page of a message asking you to SUBSCRIBE to them...then you have to " go back ' then try to go forward where you wanted to go in the first place.
No other site I have seen is that " pushy " about subscribing. But I guess they have their reasons.
I go there for that reason ( product reports ) and mebbe read a thread or two on the front page, but I hardly ever post. Some one else is there with an opinion just like mine ( po' fella ) so I dont have to post any thing.

And the other thing I don't like about eHam is that one can invent a username, not necessarily a callsign, to stir the pot. Doesn't make for much accountability. Other than that, I think it's an okay site.
