I was listening to the baseball game between the crappy Orioles and the apparently-even-crappier Injuns on Sunday. Over the radio, it sounded like the Injuns stadium announcer was an 8 year old kid or something. What the heck's going on over there at the Mistake by the Lake?? Was it "Take Your Kid To Work Day" at the stadium? Does the little tyke do night games too? What happens when the games go extra innings and it's past his bedtime?

Haw!

And how come I don't hear BOOM-boom-boom BOOM-boom-boom-boom drums at your ballpark any more? And why don't your fans go "LULULULUULULULULUUUUU" any more?

Jeezus.... sounds like Cleveland Injuns are getting to be as lame as the Bumtimore Borioles.....

The drummer is still there but I can't give an answer on the announcer. Our team started off great this year and then we got as bad as the O's How do you like Art Modell and the Ravens?

I remember the drummer. Big, fat, pudgy guy with glasses. Looks like a massive dork. Didn't hear him. Guess he gave up on the Injuns too.

DID YOU KNOW..... In the 1980's, I used to play in a regular Sunday pickup softball game over at preppy Gilman School in Baltimore. One of the players was a big, football-player-lookin' guy named Mark Shapiro. His dad was the sports agent, Ron Shapiro. Ron played with us a couple times too. Once, Mark hit a weak grounder to short, and just kinda loped toward 1st base (where he would have been out by a mile anyway). He said, "LOOK! [referring to his lazy pace on the basepaths] I'm Eddie Murray!" His dad (Murray's agent) sternly reprimanded him. "MARK SHAPIRO!!"

Well, that dood is the same Mark Shapiro who is the current GM of the Injuns. Glad to see his success! True, his dad is a long time sports bigshot, but Mark started at the very bottom and worked his way up. Injuns are extremely lucky to have a bright guy like him in charge.

Art Modell? Love him! Unfortunately, he sold out and retired. The good news is his goofy son, David (aka "Slicky Boy"), was also knocked out of the picture when he went bye bye. Modell did a great thing for Baltimore and the NFL by bringing the Browns here and turning them into winners as the Ravens. Nothing personal, but that could not have happened in Cleveland.

Happily, Brownie fans were rewarded for their whining with a new franchise bearing the same name and colors as the old team. UNhappily, it's a poorly run franchise. Oh well. At least Cleveland got a team.

But Modell? A hero in Baltimore. Absolutely. Period, full stop. Even those who initially had their doubts think so too now. I hope that does not surprise you. After all, drunken (and now dead) idiot Bob Irsay is in the Indiacrapolis Dolts "ring of honor" or "hall of fame" or whatever the hell those hayseeds out there call it. Irsay was a moron, a loser, a buffoon, a liar, a meddler, and a terrible owner, and the Dolts lost year after miserable year under his ownership, but he brought a team to Indiacrapolis, by golly! Instant hero. End of story. They love HIM. So why shouldn't WE love Modell, who not only delivered a football team, but a quick Super Bown winner?

Hope that answers your question. Thanks for asking! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
