Hello all,

for anybody interested, i have updated the look and feel to my 6 Meter Sound Page and added some new files.

Link http://home.cogeco.ca/~ve3gib/radio/sound.htm

I am active on both HF and VHF.. but 6m is truly the magic band.

For those in previous threads who think the band is dead, you should take a listen. Perhaps it will be motivation to keep on listening hihi. Sure you can go on HF and work DX at anytime.. but when you do it on 6m.. it's definetly a thrill.

Just added some more Aurora sound files, and a few more DX files.

More to come, 73 for now.

Very nice sound files. Back in the 60s When I had the station required for successful meteor scatter operation I sometimes used a reel to reel tape recorder to record the session. It has been over 25 years since I have had a meteor scatter contact. I used relatively high speed CW (20 - 25 WPM) whenever I could and usually was able to ad a few multipliers to my VHF contesting scores. on the whole I had a bit more success with CW than I did with sideband. One day I will have a competive VHF setup again and be able to get back into some weak signal work. ( they are all weak where I am http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif with the exception of the seasonal E and Tropo)

BTW,

It was nice to work you during Field Day.

George.. yes nice working on on 10m ssb during field day.. conditions were very good that day on 10,.. lots of fun.

As for meteor scatter.. yes, highspeed cw is a bonus.. but you can also get into wsjt digital.. makes meteor scatter alot easier. Also alot of fun.

73 for now, Kevin

Heh. I was in that pileup for XE2OR, didn't get through. I recall hearing him say, "The victor-echo-3 please?" Didn't hear your end of it.

Great page. I haven't done much with 6m only having a radio for it for a month or two now and not having an antenna for it yet. I can work a bit using the 6BTV but that's a comprimise at best. Anyway, haven't been able to get far enough into things to hear the noticeable audio differences between the various flavors of propagation and your sould clips will be a great help in trying to distinguish between them in the early going.

A great reference point when I want to figure out exactly why the other guy sounded a bit funny or why it seemed to break up a bit when it was a strong signal.

The auroral clips are awesome.

I didn't know the Central Scrutinizer was a ham. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Aurora is fun to work .. point that antenna north and roll with it.. solar activity has been pretty quiet since April , hoping it starts to pick up soon. Have my other website http://www.solarcycle24.com/ to monitor activity.

C ya's on 6
