I think our local rag mentioned something a week back, but I did hear Paul Harvey mention Field Day in his broadcast, it was this past Wednesday I think.

Good stuff. Let's see more. I know there were more than two or three in the whole country.
These two are extra good, but I suspect Katrina had an impact on the whole exposure of hams and Field Day. Now for the publicity.
Two news crews were out at our Field Day site. I did not see, nor can I find anything on the KXXV-TV (News 25 Waco) website for their coverage. However, the KWTX-TV (News 10 Waco) currently have two video links, one showing a brief interview from the Temple Amateur Radio Club (W5LM) group, and the other with good coverage of the W5ZDN spot (where I was)
The links can be found on the KWTX website at The KWTX Website (http://www.kwtx.com) by scrolling down and seeing "featured videos" and looking for Temple Ham Radio Excerise and Waco Ham Radio Excerise. Check them out.

We made it on a local radio station news broadcast on June 20th, and to our surprise, the local TV news guy shows up Sunday morning, and interviews KI4NZU Kristen as she was working CW. She was on the local TV news broadcast today!

They used about a tenth of the information that I spoke about with the reporter.

Be happy that they used any of it. It is typical for a reporter to expend a lot of time on an interview and then distill out the few facts that appear pertinent to them for the actual article.
I once worked as a technical consultant to a film crew that was making a commercial. 20 hours of shooting schedule ended up as a 30 second commercial.
