Well, not too bad, It took just 8 days since I took my upgrade test last Tuesday for the FCC to give me my new call......AD5XK......looks a little weird, but so did my first callsign.....will have to get use to it.......I would like to thank.....Gordon West, I studied the book, and most of all,HAMTEST ONLINE (http://www.hamtestonline.com), this site help me to be test ready in just 3 weeks time. Some great software at work there, I wish I would have known about that site years ago for earlier test.
anyway, signing off, with new call in hand,

Ted

Congratulations. Any call with an X in it is a good call. My original was W7MDX and I always like that dah di di dah!

You will have fun on CW. Was that call AD5X K
or AD5XKK?

Congratulations. The K on the end can get misinterpreted easily on CW though. But it all works out.

What was your old call?

The old call was KB5HQB, I had kept it in earlier upgrades because I was more active years ago, then moved away from the hobby. Now I am into it again, along with alot of space for antennas, so , while I was relatively new on the air, I figures I would take a shot at upgrading and changing call.

I'm considering going for a "next sequential" call the next time I have to change my information. It would be AB8something right now, I did some looking-up. I gather the 8 zone isn't as heavily populated as most others. My present call gets awkward in noise on 'phone. People still confuse D with B, even though I give 'em kilo-delta-etcetera.

Nice call, I have thought about getting one of th AD5 calls, but I am not used to KD5OWO with my callsign badges and QSL cards and hat and usernames online and all that good stuff, so I guess I will just stick with KD5OWO, I love the prefix.
