Ok, I just finished reading a thread about a LARGE group of guys who knew each other 40 years ago.

Well, I went to a rather large High school myself.

Just wondering if any Proviso Alumni are out there?

W9LBJ was the club sponsor before I arrived, he was VERY well known in the Chicago burbs in the 50s and 60s.
Our faculty sponsor wasn't a ham, but we had a LOT of members at that time.

Freeport Illinois had a moderately successful ham club, but I ended up at J. Sterling Morton West in Berwyn, and was very involved in my music studies by the Junior year of H.S. I was working toward being a professional Violist at that time, and didn't really have time for Electronics.

But as you probably have guessed, Electronics won out and I had a very fulfilling career in the field.

Did you know a fellow back in Berwyn who owned a TV shop on Roosevelt road, name was Cyl Zcajack, as I recall, can't remember his call, but he was VERY active on VHF in the sixties..?
