Curious as to what propagation is doing I listened around HF and found very little in the way of signals. Deciding maybe a quick listen on CB would tell me, I found two locals talking on 27235. It is encouraging to think maybe we could recruit some of these guys into ham radio.
Here's how the conversation goes:
A. That f... woman smokes too f... much, and the f... cigarettes are costing me too f... many dollars.
B. Yeah, my f... old lady is a f.... heavy smoker, and she smokes those f.... cigs and is on f... oxygen a the same f... time. f... dumb f... broad.
A. Yeah, well I gotta go drive that f.... water truck out to the f... farm, and load another f.... 500 gallons of water before that f.... well shuts down again.
B. Yeah, gotta get that f.... water before the f... power fails.
A. Did you see that f.... broad at the f... bar Saturday? Man. that f.... broad sure was f... plastered.
(Well the conversation is still going on, but I'm tired of typing "f..." so I guess I'll go see if I can find some more potential hams.)

Sounds like they'll fit right in on certain parts of 20 and 75 meters...f-bombs and all...
Good catch! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

I seriously doubt if those type would fit in on 20 or 75 meters...way too much education. They would be looked down upon from day one.
I have yet to hear a conversation THAT intelligent on 75 meters after 10 pm local time.

http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ...shucks no it can not be any of my buddies, I sold / gave away all of my CB equipment back about 6 weeks ago ( around the first week or so of May 2006 ).....so that eliminates me from the suspect list. I do not even have a mobile cb antenna of any type, nor a 10-11-12 meter base antenna of any type { g5rv wont quite resonate real good on 10 - 11 meters, tried that some time back } outside the shack.
3.955 was strangely quiet last on my old realistic digital readout shortwave receiver, gee wonder why ? Well, the weekend is over for some folks, and I guess I will let one of them explain their own situations.
Let us see what a " google / yahoo search " turns up ? !! Those searches tell any one and every one about any and ALL of the different web sites that any one goes to, from the ordinary to the obscure. You can look by their FCC call sign, or by their regular name and learn quite a bit in a very short amount of time, plus if you aint a tightwad like me, you can learn even more for only $14.95. I sure am glad some of the kin folks got their selves a computer, can go over there now and use theirs and my I P wont show up ( theirs will, and they dont have the same last name as me ( in-laws ) , nor do they have a FCC call sign ( dont need one, no amateur radio )...I knew those kin folks would come in handy for something .
Aint AMERICA great ? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

they are not potential " licensed amateur radio operators " ---they are " potential hams ".
There IS a difference.
...and since you are supposed to be smarter than me, an explanation is not necessary.

I still remember the old GEORGE CARLIN comedy skit about " 7 words you can not say on television "...but I think it is is down to about 5 now.
Every time I watch the TONIGHT SHOW on nbc at 10;30 pm central time, Jay just has to curse at least once during his monologue, so I dont watch it too much ( usually muted with the closed captioning turned on ). If I want to hear a lot of cursing, there is always 2 meter repeaters or 75 meters ssb, or if the band is open...6 meter ssb, from certain areas of the USA.
I always wondered about folks who curse ( cuss ) so much ---
** is it in their raising ( or lack of raising ) when they were school age ( up to age 40 ).
** do they do it because they think it is " cute " and a way to get attention
** are they really that word illiterate to explain their thoughts ( is their vocabulary THAT limited ) ?
Just remember to type your answer slow for those out there who can not read fast.
