NYC RADIO AMATEURS HONOR SAMUEL F. B. MORSE


The Kings County Repeater Association (KCRA) will honor the memory of Samuel F. B. Morse, creator of the Telegraph and Morse code on Sunday June 18th 2006 which is the 134th Anniversary of his interment. Samuel Morse died on April 2, 1872.
A brief memorial service and wreath lying will be held at the grave of Samuel Morse in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY at 10:30 AM. Afterwards, the KCRA will operate a Special Event Station from the cemetery beginning at 11:30 AM Eastern Time and continue until 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

The KCRA will be operating CW and Phone modes on the following bands / frequencies:

10 Meters: 28.150 CW

20 Meters: 14.305 USB

40 Meters: 7.250 LSB

40 Meters: 7.125 CW

80 Meters: 3.900 LSB

The KCRA 2 meter repeater, KC2RA, will be the talk-in frequency for anyone visiting the site. The repeater can be accessed on 146.430 with a + 1MHz split and a PL of 136.5 HZ.

There will also be a special QSL card issued to stations making contact with the KC2RA Samuel Morse Memorial Special Event Station. Stations making contact who wish to receive this QSL card should send a self addressed stamped envelope to:
