They sat in a room with a woman for weeks thinking it was their daughter while their daughter had been buried.

Tell me this isn't possible. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

An unexpected blessing at the cost of another's tragedy.

But of course it's possible. It's fully understandable given the circumstances. No one can fault the coroner for the error -- the young women's friends/classmates made the erroneous identifications. Even VanRhn's family didn't question it after weeks sitting at Cerak's side.

Condolences to the VanRyn's, and the family's of the other four who died. But I see no cause to worsen the tragedy with a blame game.

Ditto.
I sent an email to one of our local morning newsies this morning after he went on a little 10 second tirade on the air questioning "how this could happen, who's responsible?". The simple answer is nobody.

They showed a picture of the two girls and if you didn't know any better you'd have sworn they were sisters.

I had an ex girlfriend who got smoked full on in the face with a line drive during a softball game. It was two weeks before she began to resemble herself again and a month before all of the swelling was gone.

And of course there were no birth marks or other ways to ID. This whole thing is still incredible.

So, I assume (a$$-U-me) that they both had the same blood type, RH factor? #They were tore up and nobody did blood work? #Checked the records? #

Some shyster lawyer is going to have a field day with this.

Why would there be a reason to have checked? No-one was questioning the ID until they realised what was what anyway.
