How about DXCC on 220 MHz - or 70 MHz for that matter!

I'm curious about that 70-MHz band there.
Is it in lieu of 50 MHz, or do you have that too?

We have a fellow here that, while he waits on his wife to shop, spends time on the radio...one of the local radio club officers thought it so funny, he created a "Worked All Parking Lots" certificate and he's got it hanging in his shack!

I wonder if he's earned a PLDXCC yet. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
How about a HPCC - 100 contacts while being chased by the police.

How about the CIT award - Continually In Trouble - often made worse by yelling at the missus, "...and WHO pays the bills around here?"
It is the practical, logical answer. It's a shame it appears never to work.

BSR: we were given 70 as compensation for not having 50, but when the band 1 TV stations were phased out we were given 50 as well. Now 70 is spreading around Europe, so far there are I think 22 DXCC entities (what an odd word!) workable. The band gets better tropo than 50 but not as much Es.

ADD - that's wonderful! I'm hoping for a slice of the present VHF-TV spectrum here when analogue TVBC is phased out - they're supposedly all going digital UHF in a few years. 72-76 MC are already used for other things but 76-80 would be nice.
ESD - there'd be so much thermonuclear QRM. Though I wouldn't mind having an Eight download from the 751A.
How about AUCC - Worked 100 Alternate Universes. It would take one hell of a duct.

BSR: will 70 - 70.6 be occupied so that you can't go for that as your allocation? It would be better if you could have much the same band as us as multi-hop Es may make contacts across the pond possible occasionally?
AUCC sounds great, pity the wormhole selector is shot on my Yaesu!
Of course! WAW - worked all wormholes!

I believe that the UK has frequencies at 70 Mhz. (70.0 to 70.5 Mhz?) I too was waiting to see what the FCC was going to do with unused VHF (US) TV channels but, last I heard, they will remain in the broadcast service

Worked All Beers?
Actually, there is something similar to that here in the San Antonio area. There's a local roadhouse that has a copious amount of beer in a bunch of coolers, and over 100 beers on tap.
If you drink over a 100 of the tapped beers (hopefully not at one sitting) you get to put a placard on the ceiling.
One local ham has several placards up, one with his call sign, another of them has this strange foot logo with the words "On-On!" in it...

Well, don't know about the rest of you, but I think I may have to try to for a WADB (Worked All Dead Batteries). If I can't do that, there is always the WARP (Worked All Rotary Phones)(I have a working rotary phone). I may also have to try for the WAUK (Worked All Unplugged Keyboards). Of course I may consider trying for the WADR (Worked All Dead Radios). Perhaps we can also try for the WAP (Worked All Planets), though I do have to wonder if we have to count thier moons are could there be a WAM (Worked All Moons) award?

Let me guess.
Digital "information services".
Blah.
Here's one for the future: FAB - Flipped All Bits (in cheesy consumer digital pretend-radios with nonexistent front-end filtering).

Alright, I give up. I think somebody should try to get the STI (Smoked The Internet) award for somehow forcing the entire internet to crash and burn such that we hams are needed again. I think internet is one of the things that may be helping to destroy our hobby.

I dunno if you guys remember the late Cliff Evens, K6BX. #He awarded more certificates than any ham or ham organization, that has existed before, during or after his time. #Cliff established the CERTIFICATE HUNTER"S CLUB (CHC) which gave awards. #Besides for the CHC awards themselves, #there were special awards for working hams who fell into specialist caregories by having other hobbies (besides ham radio) or having different professions or the same professions that the award winners had . #There were regional awards for CHC QSO parties and contests, for SWLs, for YLs and for the Hams who were never active on the air... there were eyeball awards. There was also a FLYING HAMS CLUB (FHC) for pilots and crews. Numbers were issued to CHC and FHC members and were exchanged on every band, in every mode.
Cliff got into trouble with the ARRL by establishing CHC chapters in the USSR, which didn't rate being ARRL approved clubs at that time. #However Cliff did sponsor a lot of good will to all those who bought his certificates and he made ham radio an interesting hobby as a great second source for acheivement awards that have otherwise always gone and will always go unrewarded.
# If there is a heaven...I'm sure that Cliff is up there... printing certificates for St. Peter to mail out, for little more than the cost of postage and handling. #Perhaps Cliff also has a CHC chapter in Hades.
#
Yep for K6BX..There were no impossible awards...and very little that it might be impossible to be awarded for.
w2ilp (Internationally Logged Paper)..It's not so easy keeping the records for all the rewards. Cliff had a separarte building for his radio shack and his certificate record library behind his home in Bonito, California, when I visited him in 1964 B.C. (before computers) and earned my eyeball card.

If anyone can prove he actually QSO'ed with Marconi or Telsa in the last five years, I will make them an award for that, but I will require it to be a QRP QSO running packet on 1cm. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
