They are innocent until proven guilty, and if guilt is found, at least some of it must be shared by us all. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Also, this is a day for remembering thousands of terribly dear marines who made the ultimate sacrifice, who took the wounds, who felt the fear, who endured the pain and who gave their lives so that freedom's torch would not be extinguished.

War is hell.

Try to find a war EVER where there weren't atrocitites committed on both sides. The problem is that now everything's on T.V. It's no wonder we can't win the war...the military isn't free to do what it needs to do...too worried about the "CNN Factor".

It is risky at best to judge another man's heart. I presume that guilty or not, the marines in detention are in great torment for dishonor to themselves and to the corps, but I can only project my own direct internal experience about what it means to be a human.

This is a REALLY in-aapropriate day to harp on this.

I agree except to say that the guilt must NOT be shared by us ALL. There are some folks who did not vote for GWB twice and did not want the U.S. to invade Iraq. IMHO they (and I) are not in any way responsible to share any guilt.

The last I heard, the entire POINT of going to war is to kill all the bad guys. What's the problem?

Are you ever guilty of anything, or would you share guilt with anyone? Your statement, just because you don't support the war. I though elitists supported the troops. Do you just support part of them?

And blaming Bush is not the ticket either. He didn't direct this action, and if I am not mistaken is not the first president that has had a similar incident, if it is true, occur when in office.

There was a famous incident in Vietnam, so I guess we can blame the then democratic president for instituting the practice.

That comment is so bizarre, I don't even know where to start. Maybe after you've evolved into a human being....
