What a joke!
I went to the US Postal Service Website to have my mail held while on vacation.
I filled out the form with the information with the applicable dates and information. When I tried to submit the information so that an electronic message could be sent to my PO it refused to send it stating that my address could not be a PO Box.
Funny, that’s how I get my mail! I don’t have a rural route box as the illegals will steal mail to get ID information as fast as the PO can deliver it.
You would think that the Post Office, of all people would recognize that a PO Box is a valid address.
Anyway, I thought I would let them know about this little glitch in their system so I decided to send them an email about it.
Again I filled out the information and gave them what they needed. When I went to submit it a message came back and told me that I needed to fill out a sub topic before I submitted it.
You guessed it, there is no field under a general inquiry for a sub topic.
Sometimes you just feel like a mouse in a maze. Now where is that cheese??

Why would anyone put a hold on PO Box mail? Makes no sense to me (so you'll have to explain!).

The reason for having mail held is so that nobody can swipe it while you're gone. Doesn't seem to me that a PO Box would have that problem. Maybe the Post Office will put a note in it if it gets too full?

That may be why it didn't like the POB #'s - needed a "rural" address to stop "rural" mail. (or in some cases MAYBE home delivery?)

If postal mail gets sent to your P.O. Box doesn't it normally get held there until you pick it up? Where do you expect the Post Office system to hold your mail if not in your own P.O. Box?
