On a recommendation of a fellow ham, I recently purchased a Comet SBB7-NMO dualband mobile antenna with NMO interface and a 2.5-lb MFJ NMO magmount to stick it to the roof of my car. As a mobile antenna, this is a very tall and slightly unwieldy antenna to use in heavy foliage, but the results are impeccable. The sheer size of the magmount ensures that the antenna is not going anywhere, as I am convinced that it would even hold me to the car. The Comet is a collapsible three-section antenna with amazing transmit and excellent receive qualities even when used without a ground plane (which I use it for a lot), since it has mammoth gain for both 2 meters and 70 cm. If anyone looking for a top-quality mobile antenna but doesn't mind sacrificing on size, check out Comet's hi-gain line, as it is one of the best mobile antennae I have come across. FYI- a fairly big magmount is needed, only due to the rather large size of the antenna itself. My friend lost an antenna on the highway one day, so I decided not to take any chances ; )
