I remember when I was a young shaver and lived in Florida, we had gators in the canal in back of our house. They paid us a visit every once in awhile to just to see what was going on. Never bothered us and we didn't bother them. Feel sorry for the Undertaker that has to deal with this one, gone ah have ah real mess do deal with. Feel sorry for the family too. I understand the Gator was looking to eat a CW type, but, couldn't find one. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

MIAMI, Florida (Reuters) -- An alligator grabbed and killed a Florida woman who disappeared while jogging near a canal, a medical examiner determined Thursday.

Construction workers found the woman's dismembered body floating Wednesday in a canal in Sunrise, a northwest suburb of Fort Lauderdale.

Today's sampling of black comedy and parody laced with satire and bogus philosophy as well as pseudo politics, was brought to you by the NRA, who's members wish to remind you that, "guns don't kill people, people's brains rapidly flying out of their skulls in tiny pieces is what is killing them", and the National Mental Health Association, who declares flatly: Most of you are completely crazy and only about ten percent of you know it, and the majority of you could care less about these sick bastards, so we quit! Try Scientology now; see how it goes for you losers.

6rdn, this person wouldn't be one of my clients, I don't have branches in FL yet.

People should be able to shoot gators on site, when in their yards or near canals that are close to their property.

When I was a kid living on Merritt Island the neighbor had a 10 footer crawl up out of the canal into the back yard. Pretty cool.

No, people shouldn't build $500,000 mini-mansions or "jogging trails" in the middle of Aligator habitat.

Alligators returned to the Dallas, Texas, area several decades ago (they had been here in the mid 19th century). One of the main tasks of the Parks and Wildlife personnel is getting the 6 foot alligators out of the swimming pools in north Dallas.

A friend of mine took his young son up to one of the major parks in Plano, Texas, to feed the ducks. He said that there just were not any ducks around so they fed the baby alligators. When I reminded him that where baby alligators are around so are "mommy and daddy". He suddenly got very worried about whether or not he had put his son in danger!

Makes you wonder if what they usually eat had a bad breeding year or something. I'm sure a human isn't on the top 10 list of favorite things for a gator.

I live only a short distance from where this happened and I go fishing in the canals at the begining of the everglades where we regularly see Gators in the water not to far away. I guess I'm going to have to start bring my .40 cal out fishing from now on.

Quote[/b] ]Perper said the woman, 28-year-old Yovy Suarez Jimenez, had been very close to the canal's edge when the alligator bit her, because her body showed no signs of having been dragged.

Relatives said the victim had gone jogging on Tuesday evening along a bicycle path near the canal. Wildlife officers said no one saw the attack.

Close to the canal's edge - Tuesday evening - maybe she was running "in the zone", the lighting was poor, she didn't see the gator and tripped over it. #

Not so far fetched - I've hit a few golf balls that landed near water and when walking up to the ball to make my fairway shot I have come within 30 feet or so of gators before I saw them as they lie low in the uncut grass near the waters edge. #Those encounters occured in broad day light - Gators are harder to see in poor light, such as near or shortly after sundown. #Fortunately they all, so far anyway, have just slithered into the water and let me hit my iron shot. #The adrenelin rush is worth another 20 yards so I have to club up at least one iron. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
