I don't know, maybe the feds are trying to downplay the incident, but to me, the release of POTUS's public appearance itinerary doesn't seem to be all that great of a security leak. Could it be that the news media is so desperate to find fault with the present government, that they will make a big deal out of ANY slipup ? Just wondering .

If it is not classified, what is the problem?

I saw this on TV. The report outlined his exact schedule and the scary part was it told which limousine that Bush would be riding in the Caravan.
Though unlikely, if this had gotten to a nutjob with a missile launcher or Bomb, it could have been disaster.

Jee whats wrong here, did the Clintons take the shredder with them when they left the Whitehouse and Bush never replaced it?
Also I think they are fake documents planted to throw the Terrorists and the Drive-by Media off Bush's tail.

It is a coicidence but just this week a member of our Grumman Ham club was taught about "burn barrels". She is the secretary of our club and one of only a few officers of the club who are not working for Northrup-Grumman or retired from the Grumman work force. We can not hold our general meeting or our VE sessions in Grumman buildings but we do have our board meetings in a Grumman building, with a very limited list of who may attend. Our general meetings and VE sessions must be open to the general public but entrence to the few remaiing Grumman buildings in Bethpage, NY has required individual security clearance since 9/11. Many of the hobby clubs other than the ham club have thus ceased to operate since 9/11.
The extent of security iMHO has always hampered communications between engineers who work on highly secure projects. Sometimes engineers are kept from learning about the success or failure of other similar projects because of a dumb belief that they don't have a need to know exactly what they need to know. Thus security procedures often cause our government more expense than they realize. I have worked on projects where I was not permited to even talk about their purpose and what aircreaft was involved...only to find all these details publicaly available not only in trade magazines but in "Aviation Weekly".
Obviously there is a great gap between recognizing what documents need to go to the burn barrel and what documents do not. Meanwhile we can only hope that the visitations of Jack Abramoff to specific people (perhaps President Bush , who denies ever knowing Jack) can be found intact by some astute trash collector. The information recently obtained say that Abramoff visited but does not clearely tell who he visited. I think we need to know. Heck we knew who Monica Lewinsky visited and we need a tit for tat policy on the whole visitation logs when it is suspected that our leader has lied.

I don't think you have to be very desperate to find fault with the current administration.
Almost everything they get involved with is a big screw-up from their little war for oil, to the "war on terror" ("We've got tanks and airplanes...We're going to fight terror..."), to the Medicade prescription program, to their efforts after the hurricane, to their intent and efforts to push their fundie religion on the rest of America.
No, in fact they are the poster children for US administration screw-ups. #Not hard at all to find something to criticise them for.
The intinerary that was found also contained the names of all the passengers on Air Force One, the exact times for each event in the trip including the exact scheduled landing and take-off times for Marine One and Air Force One, the passengers in the various vehicles in the motorcades and the order in which the vehicles were going to be traveling down the roads. #This includes which vehicle POTUS was scheduled to be in. #This is "burn-bag" material and not to be left where anyone could pick it up off the street.
It doesn't surprise me to see that Presidental security has now reached the same level as everything else about this administration...carelessly screwed up.
