Very compelling, but its going to be lost on anyone outside the ham community. #It needs to be presented with a better hook, people are selfish, the thought will be "oh well"

If its going to be fought we better think of a better argument then that. Not that its wrong, but it won't win.

It pushes all the right buttons, but as NNL points out, it's lost on the general public outside of amateur radio. #From what I've seen so far, it's the FCC and BPL vs. amateur radio. #We're holding our own and all but two installations have gone foldo. #Also, competing technologies are showing far better performance.

The market is more likely to kill BPL than anything else.

The ARRL needs to spin this as an assault on emergency communications in a post 9-11 world. They need to pressure state homeland security directors and governors to start banging around municipalities that give the go-ahead to this crap.

Emergency communications? When the mains go dead so does BPL or have you forgotten what the carrier is? It may be David vs. Goliath but David won.

Ummm....There are two sides to every QSO - One transmitting and one receiving.

Do they test for that in the technician class exam these days?

If I can't hear the emergency station due to BPL, things are not going well.
