I'm not usually one to post shack pictures, as my shack is rather lacking. However, this is a youth forum. There ought to be other flat broke hams laying around, so I won't be so embarassed! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Try to get as many of the radios you own into the shot as possible, including HT's and whatnot. If you only own an HT, a picture of you with your HT is fine.

From left to right: HTX-202, Mac Mini with license framed on top, homebrew CW paddle, another HTX-202 sitting atop a Kenwood TM-241 two-meter mobile, a NorCal QRP kit-built keyer sitting atop a Kenwood TS-450, a Yaesu FT-530, an alarm clock set to UTC, and a Dilbert calendar.

My shack. FT-817, IC-765, about 10 free Standard commercial UHF HT's, VX-7r, Standard C150, tons of pagers (50 or so), HTX242, and a few more little rigs.

I wish I had cool motorola rigs like that. I've just got my cheap knock off Standards. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif All 10 or so of them, and one nearly new Maxon.

KF6CZG: Nice little shack you have there, and this is a very nifty idea for a thread. It will be interesting to compare the different gear that different young hams own. Could you please re-size the image or link it, though? I feel sorry for those with slower ISPs that will, have to wait for that to load, and for those of us with smaller monitors. Thanks!

Several good pictures posted here.. and now I will raid the site http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

QSL Card Wall, this has changed a little bit, and one of these days I will take new pictures.

Some minor changes as far as what is on display. Like I now have my K3LP/KP5 card to show off, but this is indeed the shack.

OWO, I love the old macs, that's classic! My first was a 512k, man I miss that thing.

As far as everyone else's shack goes, I still can't compete. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Top to bottom, left to right:

Gateway laptop, Regency HR-212 2m crystal rig, Star Knight Roamer tube receiver (assembled by my grandpa, used as a receiver for my uncle's first contact), Hallicrafters S-53A tube receiver that was my great-grandpa's, a Kenwood TS-570DG, power supply, and MFJ-949E tuner. There is also my dad's straight key and a VX-7R.

There is a Kenwood TR-7730, power supply, and Radio Shack PRO-23 scanner given to me by my uncle (KF0RT).

PQJ, seems like your family has a long history of hamming. Nice shack, by the way.

A couple more nice shack photos. Not to be a jerk, but could you please resize or link the images Mike? The second one I think it okay, but the first is large, and will be hard for those on dial-up and also stretches the forum.

Here is my shack. I am running an ICOM 718 for HF (which I modded for 60m), a Yeasu mobile rig for 2m and 440. A Uniden Bearcat Trunking Scanner and a CB Radio. As far as I'm concerned I'm set for a long while. We college kids don't have a whole lot of money >.>

73 guys - anyone interested about my shack catch me on echolink.

Not Amazing, I've only been opperating for roughly 1-2 months (since I got my this, my first license), however I shall build it up!

Laptop is primarily for PICAXE programing, soon to find other uses. Pictured is my Yaesu FT-7, HTX-202 and ATU I'm building. Powersupply is under desk. Still thinking about building a hutch for this table too.

With the foundation license can you operate on any parts of HF? I suspect we would be hard pressed with current conditions to make a contact, but perhaps you would be interested (and this goes to any other young ham here) in the WWYC.

www.wwyc.net

I keep mentioning this, because it is a great group, and keeps the interest in radio going.

Yeah, Foundation calls are allowed on HF. Certain parts of 10, 15, 40 and 80M are allocated for Foundation licenses, but not many.

Current conditions are also that so, unless I'm running lots of power, I can't get outside Australia really (10W PEP max).

Once I get my full call I will be able to output 400W PEP so everything would be fine.

Transceiver or just a Receiver? What Bands does it cover?

This is of particular interest, because those getting started with radio can find good gear like this at great prices. I actually kind of wish I had some vintage gear.

What antenna to you have up (if anything yet?). It is nice to hear what different youth hams use in their shacks, as everyone seems to have what works for them, and that is great.

Have Fun!

Hey guys, age 20 here as of today. (my birthday is today, hihi) some of you may already know me from my "famous" thread here on QRZ, but I wanted to share a picture of my shack.

I have a Heathkit HW8 CW rig with matching power supply, MFJ 901 Versa tuner and #MFJ 816 SWR meter. Am looking into getting a Kenwood or a Yaesu but havent decided yet. Also have a 10 meter SSB mobile rig the "Titan 2". I work 99.9% CW and currently hold a tech + HF.

73, 72 #and hope to work you!

It hums, and it heats the room. I couldn't have gotton a better radio.

I got this Yaesu FT-101ZD a few months ago and hooked it up to a five band dipole. Its solid state with tube finals and I can almost tune 160 meters to an 80 meter antenna with the pi network. To the right is a handheld FT-60R for 2 meters and 70cm. I've recently added a cw paddle and an antenna tuner. They are not in the picture. Some time this summer I hope to add a homebrew gunnplexer for 10 GHz (if i can ever find all the parts)
