I am going to order a handheld in the next week or two....I have sorta narrowed the field down to the Yeasu VX7R or the Kenwood TH-F6a.

Do any of you have any opinions about either of these radios, good or bad. Or, is there a radio you like better? (ICom, Alinco, etc.)

Triband is NOT a necessity.....These just happen to have them...

I am a new ham and haven't yet received my call sign....should have it Monday. (Well..I am new back into it..I had my ticket way back in the early 60's but let it go.....No time! Heh.)

Thanks in advance!

Had both the Yaesu VR and Kenwood F6. Sold the VR and kept the F6. Real nice HT.

I also have the Kenwood TH-F6A... bought it to explore 222 MHz. Very pleased with the actual radio, but would highly recommend a better "duckie" antenna. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I've had the 7R for a few months now and I love it! I can't help you too much since I have no other experience with the other HTs.
