There's an article in Readers' Digest for May 2006 called "Sparks Of Genius." This article describes the efforts of a cancer patient named John Kanzius to find a way to use radio waves to target certain cancer cells.
In describing his efforts, one paragraph reads "Kanzius spent hours that evening in December 2003 banging away at spare ham-radio parts . . . "
I took a wild guess and found that John Kanzius is indeed one of us, K3TUP.
