mozilla 1.5.01
also i have been playing around with the new editon of opera (http://www.opera.com/), i sort of like it. i don't use the tabbed browsing in mozilla much but i left it on in opera and it works well.
but i have all the plugins i want currently for mozilla and there are tons more to choose from and being developed. i don't see that happening with opera, which is unfortunate.
something else to consider between the two is the secunia security advisories for mozilla (http://secunia.com/product/4227/) and opera (http://secunia.com/product/4932/). forget about IE http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
some extras/plugins i am running is AdMuncher, NoScript (shuts down javascript and turns it on without going through menu choices), and spoofstick. also using the blueshift theme on mozilla.
didn't someone have a mozilla plugin for call sign look ups?
lets get nerdy http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.1 as for plugins I got image zoom, 1 click weather, and IE tab for those stubern pages that just won't work with firefox.
As for the callsign look up just do a search for qrz search plugin.

Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7
I haven't tried v1.5 yet. I have heard a lot of complaints that it uses up too much memory, as much as 100mb more than the older version I'm using.
My machine has 512 mb of memory, and right now I have only 144.77 mb available, according to System Information. The only thing I'm running is several tabs in Firefox, plus the anti-virus and firewall software.

Firefox 1.5.0.1 here. Not sure what all plugins I have, but it seems to crash once in awhile on Acrobat files.

Firefox is a good product. I am waiting to get a new machine before switching to Mozzilla products. I am also getting influenced to learn Linux. I am another person getting bored seeing unnecessary graphics and pictures. I think all they do is use up memory. The functions of windows is a great tool but I am no longer interested in advertising on my internet provider search engine<Yahoo>. I like to visit web sites with photos, but I should have a choice when browsing the internet or using my provider's search engine. If I am already paying for a service why should I put up with advertising and pop ups?
Well anyway I think we can also enjoy QRZ without the flashing ads.
Have a great day and thanks for the topiuc http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Then install a custom HOSTS file. I used to get loads of flashing banner ads with my Hotmail account. Now I just get blank spaces where the banners were supposed to go. Websites load up faster because you don't have to wait for all the banner ads to load up. And many questionable sites that may have malware cannot be accessed.
My Hotmail account now is almost like my regular ISP account.
I have my HOSTS file set up so I can toggle it off in case I really do want to access one of the blocked websites.
The HOSTS file is free for the downloading.

If you block those off then please consider supporting the advertisers with your business. Tell 'em you saw their ad on QRZ.com. I've bought several things from QRZ advertisers.

Firefox 1.5 with Ad-Block / Tiny URL / Leetkey / InfoRSS.
And for the web pages that don't open with Firefox...screw them. You want me to see you? Get fixed.
There are very extremely very few of them though, it happens maybe once a month... not even.

I have both Firefox 1.5 and Netscape 7.2
I had Netscape 8.0 but uninstalled it because I did not like the look of the GUI.
Netscape since version 7 has just been a skin for relatively new mozilla versions with extra features added.
I will be switching over to Firefox as soon as I can get My mail folders imported from Netscape 7 to Thunderbird. I used the tabbed browsing everyday on Netscape, with the second window set for my favorite search engine Dogpile.com
I expect to do the same thing with Firefox.

Firefox with adblock, weather tab, fasterfox, word definition thing and most importantly- session saver. Close it down .. open it up your right back where you were... no home page.
On my Windows drive Firefox 1.5.
On my Linux drives, Firefox 1.5, Opera, and Links2. You ought to see what this pace looks like in a text based browser.

I run a kubuntu linux box with firefox 1.5. The memory overload thing is only important for older computers and is related to the amount of data FF keeps in storage - this can be "fixed" with about:config. I use some 13 different extensions including Scrapbook, Adblock, Customize Google, and Tabbrowser Prefs.

Here I use Mozilla 1.7.12 and firefox 1.5.01......Mozilla has the stumbleupon which I'd like to take out and a few helpful things like Adblock. I have made edits in both of these using about Config: in the url bar to gain access to the heart of the browser's operation.
Firefox I have the usual like adblock and the Noaa ad-on which resides at the bottom right and gives the Solar Flux A & K index.
Internet Explorer only gets opened if I absolutley must because of the website, otherwise IE is in the garbage can.
I have recently been getting browser shut downs in Mozilla and Firefox when the JAVA control is called for, this is very intermittant and a re-start of the browser is required. That began when I 'upgraded to Java 5.xxx so I removed it and now Im stuck with these intermittant shutdowns of the browser.
Prior to getting the other plug-ins I used a program called Proximitron' which enables you to basically turn on & off just about every function that is irritating like, pop-ups, and the ability for web sites to gain information when you visit....this program blocks anyone from getting that info.
that's about it 73 N2ACX

I believe all those problems have been fixed. There were complaints about browser crashing etc. early when 1.5 came out.
that old article early in the 1.5 release is here: http://www.informationweek.com/news/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=175007152
personally i can say i have had no problems

i used proximitron too, but it seemed like no support was going into it or updates so that's when i switched to admuncher. this is a family computer so it's easier for everyone to use admuncher anyway.
also i'm glad to see so many people dumping IE. only time it is ever open is critical updates or some webpage that won't work in mozilla (like said before, rare nowadays) that I really want to see.

Konqueror on Linux (SuSE w/KDE) is my favorite browser, but since I like the Solaris OS best I'm stuck with Mozilla as my browser http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif Oh well, I'd rather run my 2nd choice browser on my first choice OS than the other way around!
