Regardless of how you try to confuse the issue, all Iraqis must pass a 5 wpm code test before getting access to HF. #I mean, what other reason is there for us to be there?

Waiting for the occupation to end just to get out of learning the code is just silly. Think of all the fun they could have on HF while our troops and Halliburton are still on the ground there.

The Iraqi people really should try it. #They'd be surprised at how easy it is to learn, and how rewarding it is to use. #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Pretty good. I also thought all Iraqis must pass a 5 wpm Morse test then we'll leave. Another ad infinitum situation.

But then, if they approach it with a positive attitude, we could be leaving before May 1st.

I don’t know about that. There is probably something in the Koran {Coran?} against using CW.

Maybe one of the Muslim knowledgeable would be able to fill us in.

Would you have cared to even last this long if it were not for the occasional well-crafted glass of brewed nirvana? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Actually there is much more to life than beer. Speaking of nirvana I spent 4 1/2 days in San Diego, last week. The high Q beer capital of the USA. Unbelievably good stuff.

I didn't know they had beer there. One of my employees went to a computer gaming thingy in San Diego last year and he came back to tell me how pathetic my place is. He still works for me ... barely.

I've heard the Zoo is nice. Do they serve beer at the zoo? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Don't know about now, but years ago when I took my family to the San Diego Zoo they were selling beer at the refreshment stands.

...some times a beer joint / lounge / dance hall / wal mart is like a zoo with all the various characters that wander in....

I do not see the point of the question since -- as a reference ---

we dropped nuclear bombs on japan in World War II...but...even now we have a "small" military presence IN Japan . So we have not totally withdrawn from Japan even as yet ( 50 + years later )....so...

We also sent troops to South Korea, and even now there are still a few military folks IN South Korea, so technically speaking, the USA has not totally withdrawn from South Korea.....also...

The USA sent troops to Vietnam in the early 1960 s ( somewhere near that year ), yet even to this day, there are still a few military folks IN Vietnam from the USA....

Yet he asks about Iraq.... ?

The USA has military folks in almost every country on the planet to one degree or another.

Yet he asks about Iraq .... ?

IF jty has / had spent half as much time studying for a simple 5 word-per-minute morse code exam as he does in trying to get out of taking the same exam that others have passed so easily...he would be on HF today, trying in vain to find what frequency and time todays " qrz net " might land on...no one knows...not even the net control.

Oh...by the way...I went some where, asked a few questions to folks who will find the answers, and came home and see that now much has changed......

I thought CHANGE was what some of you wanted so badly....maybe you really do not know WHAT you want.

Oh well..

Tuborg GR0N:

it doesn't rate very high. I like Urquel with it's funky mineral water taste. I have yet to try Czechvar but hope to soon.
